Counseling for Affairs & Infidelity
The betrayal and trauma of infidelity or an affair in a relationship is one of the hardest roadblocks you may ever encounter in your relationship. Even if it seems impossible right now your relationship can heal. Data has showed us that infidelity is the second most damaging relationship problem. Unfortunately affairs and infidelity are much more common than people talk about.
When an affair has been revealed (regardless if was emotional, sexual or both) it can be traumatic. It’s not uncommon to have extreme feelings of anger, loss, betrayal and guilt, as well as disorientation and mistrust regarding the future of your marriage or relationship.
There is still hope for your relationship even if it has experienced infidelity or an affair. At Compass Whole Health we will help to support and guide you through couples counseling to address the infidelity or affair. Our goals often include:
- Relationship boundaries
- Identify the vulnerabilities that contributed to making the affair possible
- Understand why the infidelity happened in the first place
- Rebuilding trust in each other and in the relationship
Healing & Recovery from Infidelity or an Affair
It takes time to heal from an affair. This often happens gradually, and in stages. It will be important to fully grieve the loss of the original relationship and begin to build a second, stronger new relationship.
Through our Affair & Infidelity Counseling services, we’ll guide you and your partner to greater well-being within yourselves and your relationship.
We will assess your struggles and strengths together. It’s important for us to help you learn the skills and techniques you need to re-establish trust, safety, and commitment in your relationship. We’re confident you will learn to cultivate the inner strength you need to once again engage in your deep, loving partnership.
Contact us today if you and your partner are experiencing an affair and feel couples counseling could help you navigate the journey toward restoration.
