My Background

I am a current graduate student at Grand Canyon University completing my Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health. I hold experience working in community mental health. My professional background supports my structured individual counseling services.

As a young Latina I have found there to be a gap in providers that may face specific prejudices, discriminations, and trauma. I have made it my own mission to be a resource for these populations in high demand. Although I have worked with various age groups, I have found that life altering events can occur at any point in time. I strive to create a person-centered space of empowerment to surpass these major life stressors.

My Approach & Philosophy

The therapeutic goal is to assist individuals in their journey of finding worth. An alliance is a genuine and trusting relationship that allows one to unravel their inner qualities. Together we can enhance your strengths rather than becoming stagnant over negative attributes. With the proper collaboration one will develop skills to resolve conflict. We will both work to find motivation for attaining the desired treatment outcomes. I aim to help one develop a strong sense of self for implementing positive change within internal and external processes. I utilize an emphasized focus on cognitive behavior theory including mindfulness. Application of dialectical behavior therapy allows opportunities for emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. However, I ensure integration of other evidenced based practices to properly reflect client context.
